Dr. Zhao Liu is an associate professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Expert of the Chinese Character Cultural Creative Research Center of the National Language Committee of China and Chinese script chairman of Granshan Type Design Competition. Director of the National Social Science Fund project Art Project Contemporary Chinese Type Design and Structure Research. The course Type Design was awarded the excellent course of CAFA. General Manager of Type Together China, FounderType consultant. She coordinated and Proofread the Chinese edition of Shaping Text and How to Create Typefaces recommended by the CAFA, UoR and ATypl.

From 2013 to 2015, she is Chinese type designer of Noto Sans CJK and Noto Serif CJK. She has lectured in many countries and published some papers. She was speaker of Face / Interface: Type Design & Human-Computer Interaction Beyond the Western World in Stanford University, China (Anyang) International Conference of Chinese Characters, World of CJK Type and Forum. ATypl Hong Kong Conference. Cooperated with FounderType and HanyiType, she created a series of The Way of Type event, and tour exhibitions in more than 10 cities from 2015. Her works are exhibited in the United States, Korea, Poland, France, Taiwan China and Mainland China.
