Born in 1970 in Hangzhou, China, Hu Xueqin graduated from The China Academy of Art in 1995, received bachelor's degree; in 2011, she graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts, with a doctorate degree. Now she works as associate professor in City Design School, China Central Academy of Fine Arts , focuses in study of creative communication design, service design and social innovation design in digital media. she also is associate director of Research Center of Urban Visual Culture of CAFA,and works as secretary-general and curator in Executive Committee of Designnova Awards Innovation Design Competition & Exhibition(2010-2019) & China International Creative Design Promotional Week (2010-2014).

Hu Xueqin has participated in many national projects such as the Image & Identity System of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the Wayfinding system design project for China National Grand Theater, the Book design project for "60 years of Chinese Fine Arts ", and the Re-branding system of the People's Daily Press,etc. Hu’s work were selected by many curators, ,she has won the bronze Prize of World Expo International Poster Design Competition , the prize of excellent works of " Chinese National Grand Theater impression " global design competition during the 2009 Beijing ICOGRADA World Design Congress. And her works were invited to participate in " International Design Invitation Exhibition of China Art Museum ", " Chinese modern poster design exhibition”in Havana and " Beijing 2008 Olympic design exhibition “,etc.

In recent years, she has been actively involved in a number of creative design activities as an organizer and curator. She was curator of [Design 3.0: Design now] exhibition during Beijing Icograda World Design Congress(2009), [Designnova: The Nomination Exhibition of Deans of Chinese Art Academy](2010-2014), [The Invitation Exhibition of China International independent designers](2013),and she was also project director of [Horizon: The tradition as possible] exhibition(2015) ,[Designnova:International Innovation Design Competition,Exhibition & Design Forum](2010-2019).
