Ryan Slone is a designer, educator, and posterist whose work explores the intersection of design and activism through social-advocacy poster design, speculative processes, and constraint-led provocations. He received his MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier, Vermont, and studied at the Miami Ad School in Atlanta, Georgia. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Arkansas School of Art in the United States, and co-founder of the inaugural United States International Poster Biennial. Ryan’s work has been featured in numerous international publications and exhibitions including Graphis, Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition, The International Biennial of the Poster in Mexico, Golden Bee Global Biennale of Graphic Design, Ecuador Poster Bienal, Mut zur Wut, Poster Stellars, Peru Design Biennial, PosterFest Budapest, International Poster Biennale of Korea, Cyprus Poster Triennial, Poster Quadrennial Bardejov, Taiwan International Graphic Design Awards, Design Research Society, British Design & Art Direction, Communication Arts, AIGA, HOW, and PRINT.
