After completing both his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Hongik University, Joo-sung Kim established a design studio called Typohouse, and performed various successful visual design projects. He is currently a professor at the Department of Communication Design at Myongji College, and his works around experimental typography design have been invited to numerous international exhibitions. He served as the 12th president of the Visual Information Design Association of Korea and as the vice-chairman of the Academic Discourse Division of the Korean Society of Basic Art and Design. He is currently a member of the Korean Society of Design Studies and the member of the Korean Society of Typography.
